John Murray is an artist who focuses on the abstract quality of painting, while still maintaining his roots as a realist. Graduating from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in 1983, Mr. Murray continued to study in the US and Florence, Italy. He also trained for seven years at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing as a banknote designer, one of four in the country. His most noted accomplishment was the portrait of Abraham Lincoln on the new five dollar note. John Murray is also a co-founder of the Bridgeview School of Fine Arts in New York City.
